Final Project Plan

After discussing with my instructor Salman, my plan will involve using 3D printing, PCB design and manufacturing, and heat-set threaded insert assembly techniques.
The working principle of my final project involves using a photoresistor and DHT11 as input devices. The data from these devices is processed by the MCU, which also synchronizes time over the network. The output is displayed using NeoPixels rings to show the time.
Throughout the process, my instructor provided many useful suggestions, boosting my confidence in completing the final project.


Schedule for Following Assignments

Week Project Plan
Week 11 Input Devices For my final project, I plan to use the DHT11 sensor to measure temperature and humidity.
Therefore, in this chapter, I will use the DHT11 as an input device to conduct debugging and testing.
Week 12 Moulding and Casting I plan to recreate the wheel that was manufactured in Chapter 3 using 3D printing, this time using injection molding for comparison.
week 13 Output Devices My final project is a clock, for which I will use NeoPixels rings as the output device.
I plan to test them in this chapter.
week 14 Networking&Communications My final project uses the Xiao ESP32S3 MCU, which supports Bluetooth and Wi-Fi functionalities.
I will use it to implement network time synchronization features.
week 15 Interface and Applications I plan to implement MQTT communication control between computer and the Xiao ESP32S3 MCU.
week 16 Wildcard Week I will use the heat-set insert technique in one part of my final project.
Interestingly, this technique was not covered in the Fab Academy course.

week 17-19 All about Final Project I will focus the skills I've learned on implementing my final project.
